Contractors working despite the rain to clear the silt from the lake.
This is a job we need to do every five years.
Rain is slowing progress as we can’t drain the lake fast enough - due to the increased volume water flowing in from the Wallsend Burn and the North Burn.
If you’re in the Hall Gounds this week, and you think the water in the stream is a little murky - don’t worry! We are having the lake de-silted. Whilst this is going on we would expect to see the water change colour.
Once again, if you’re coming to Wallsend Parks today please be careful around the watercourses. The lake has breached this morning and the burns are all very full. Please do not try and pass these flooded paths as they are much deeper then they look.
Come along on Halloween itself and carve a pumpkin, bounce on a spooky bouncy castle, have a go at the legendary spooky skull shack or sample some spooky treats.
We’ve got some spooky entertainment.
Free event - some charges apply for some activities. Cash only please.
