Currently, The Odyssey is at 29.6%.

Maverick was released on Memorial Day weekend and Wicked the week before Thanksgiving, so no Monday off.

@SAbraha79023174 @GiteshPandya I don't think Spider-Man will affect The Odyssey's box office too much. There's not much overlap.

The Odyssey is an event film, like Oppenheimer, including an older audience, while Spider-Man is a super hero film, catering towards younger viewers.

@AwardsDaily All I know is that's a list of some very impressive directors! They've all made fantastic films.

Even Emerald Fennell, who I had to look up. Saltburn and Promising Young Woman were both great!
I'm not sure how powerful she is after just three films (including Wuthering Heights).

@GiteshPandya It's completely amazing to me that people in the US are watching.

I remember about twenty years ago or so is when I even found out they had a "World Cup".
Four years ago, only 35 million in the USA watched.

Now, around 100 million in the USA are watching.

In today's streaming world, a movie may not generate much at the box office, but then it excels on its streaming platform.

Just saying "bomb" or even "flop" doesn't tell the whole story.

As soon as they enter the street, they'll get a warning, certainly, but repeated violations will get them arrested.

It's all about streaming now. HBO Max grosses over $10 billion a year. 🎉
Warner Bros box office only grossed $4.5 billion in all of 2025. 😢

Just one million orders at $20 each is $20 million, more than the movie grossed at the domestic box office this past weekend.
They're not going to suddenly earn more at the box office this weekend than last.
