I've got a theory... its a little out there believe you me, but it regards to who bon is and how Jack might have caused everything to happen.
In Ep 5 we finally get to see characterization of Jack for real this time and boy is he... different. you can tell he's a good guy but he's clearly holding back emotions. Not emotions of sadness or grief like Rosemary, no, I think Jack is angry. We heard it first in TWF 4 that he openly threatens Felix with death, but i don't think this was a one off thing.
to put a long story short I think personally that Jack has killed people before (I know a crazy thing to say). Jack is never home according to Sophie, Over time with the findjackwalten site and now this episode that Jack is very interested in hunting. What if it weren't just animals but he hunted people? Now im not saying Jack is some edgy serial killer OC, but I wouldn't put it past him that his anger for Felix made him do some crazy things.
Bon to me comes as a power hungry vengeful ghost who wants nothing but to destroy things that Jack loves, meanwhile keeping things he hates alive. for example, how cruel would it be to fake a phone-call to your wife to convince her you ran away amidst the most grieving and heartbreaking time of her life. AND THEN comfort her as the bon animatronic because you see she associates Bon the rabbit with her husband who is now missing. ASWELL as convincing her to confess her love to you as you turned her into sha. And for an example for Bon keeping things Jack hates alive, why Isn't Felix dead yet? Felix killed Jack's kids and its clear that both Jack and Rosemary hate the man now. I wouldn't be shocked if Jack was planning to kill Felix (which is why he never pressed charges).
Now why would this spirit be so cruel against a man who has supposedly done no wrong? because jack is not as innocent as the missing posters, and the websites, and the witness testimonies make him out to be. Jack has literal blood on his hands.
Another thing, There is a recurrence of the well. An Old hand-made stone well are not that uncommon in Forest areas. what if Jack disposed of people in this well and burned the remains in it. Its clear that Bon is associated with the well, and also themes of remembrance like in Ep 3.
I KNOW this sounds super crazy but something about Jack is that he's been hinted to be at least somewhat "offputting." I think he's a loving husband, and good but absent father, but I also think he has dirt under his nails.
Jack had to have killed the person who became Bon because why would any of this stuff be happening? Edd and Molly died sure but they could went to the after life if it weren't for they're vengefullness against Felix. Maybe bon runs on the same fuel as the kids do... Vengeance
It doesn’t change the fact that it would certainly make Jack angry (hence the whole revenge plot) but this does indeed muddy the water. I really wish they wouldn’t answer questions like this until after at least the first season is finished. Answering some pretty lore heavy questions in a discord server thats not highly accessible to the average viewer is kind of screwed up. It kind of limits the imagination by shooting down fan theories as soon as an episode releases

Good point! I really do think bon was more so manipulating rosemary more than trying to relate to her, given that we see him in the Walten house stalking her.
Just to add more fire to the flame if my Jack theory is right, bon is heavily suggested to have died wearing a suit. Who in their right mind would be wandering in St. Juana’s wearing a full three piece suit? Probably someone who isn’t in a good mental state, someone in a similar mental state to that of rosemary. So maybe the canvas thing was not only a manipulation tactic but maybe bon before he died was just as miserable as rose was and actually also related?
@defaultboi09 My best bet is that he killed at least one person and it’s the person who went on to be bon. His motivation could be Edd and Molly dying. But yeah I’m in the same boat as you.
From the time he left rosemary, to that phone call, he died. I don’t think Jack is bon but this is definitely Jack crying to rosemary from wonderland. I think him telling rosemary that he’s not coming back is him telling her that cuz he’s dead. Also we see that bon can call out to the spirits, so he prob did this to rose to driver her further into wanting to die.
@loonayvesglazer rosemary was not on my favorite characters list, but this is too accurate a representation of grief, especially motherly grief. and finding out she willingly died to bon (kinda) is such an interesting character thing. I was squealing like a high school girl
Hey little update post about my absence
In short... I've felt super unmotivated with this account. I love and appreciate all the follows but i would really love if y'all took the time and read some of my stuff or at least interacted by asking about theories and what not.
Works also been killing me more than ever. Its gotten to a point where i barely play video games now and just sleep.
Love you all though and really appreciate those who take the time and read what I post. I hope i feel a little better and then I'll start posting analysis.
much love once again, and watch TFW 5 when it comes out tomorrow.
New teaser came out. Unfortunately nothing to really point out to my knowledge. I’m planning on really talking about them more when the episode comes out
