We're excited by a proposed Community Right to Buy - but we need to make sure that impactful CLTs (like @hastingscommons and @CVCLT1) creating new community places & community led affordable homes don't miss out
@tom_chance shares the terms we need to see https://t.co/kRmJu3Zoyh
And over in our rural housing partnerships session - sponsored by @AsterGroupUK - @AlisonWardx is talking through Middlemarch CLH replicable model of rural CLT-housing association partnerships - contributing to a South West boom in CLT homes #buildingwithcommunities

Great to see the excellent speakers here today at the Community Land Trust Network #BuildingwithCommunities Conference. So much expertise in the room. Whoever makes the new government should partner the CLT movement and make this mainstream.

"I believe that we as a society will all be better off if more of our assets are owned by the community. Selling this house to the CLT is one small step in that direction that was within my power to take." Affordable, rented, energy efficient, community owned & coming to Hebden.
@josiahsulc CLT-owned homes are exempt from the Right to Buy and Right to Shared Ownership, and of they are the freeholder can also exempt homes from the Right to Acquire and (soon) leasehold enfranchisement. Inc where an RP/council is landlord.
What if we designed, sourced and built our homes with homegrown materials and resources?
We're very excited to be launching our 'Homegrown Homes for People and Planet' report, supported by the @ForestryComm.

#HomegrownHomes
This is a truly stupid tragedy.
If they had vested the land into a Community Land Trust with the council operating the homes, they would have been protected. One to consider...
Our new manifesto proposes policies to make community led homes account for at least 5% of housing development in the UK in the next 5 years - 15k homes a year and potentially generating £1bn+ community wealth.
