Independence of the courts notwithstanding, does the Chief Justice of Uganda know that the continued illegal detention of Col. Kiiza Besigye when it results in death while still under detention, Ugandans from that part of Uganda will hold him responsible for the rest of his life. Will he be able to live with it? It is his moral responsibility to reign in on a judge who is bent on abusing the rights of a senior citizen beyond what is morally acceptable in a democracy.
What happened to the prayers at Lubaga Cathedral? Is the suspension still on? Let us pray for God's wisdom to prevail..
The DPP isn't withdrawing that application to hide the witnesses against Dr. Besigye "because of the delay caused by the opposition of KB's lawyers to the application," but because the application met impossible odds against lawyers who actually know what they're doing, and against an accused who's willing to go all the way in defence of his rights and beliefs!
Today, the People’s Front for Freedom joins the nation in celebrating the birth of a true titan of justice, our Executive Chairman, Ssalongo Erias Lukwago.
For over two decades, he has been more than just a leader, he has been a shield for the common citizen. Despite the state-sponsored hurdles and the many attempts to silence his voice, Lukwago’s commitment to the rule of law remains unshakable.
He has never wavered in speaking truth to power, regardless of the personal cost. A lifelong defender of constitutionalism and the quest for true justice, while critics mislabel his struggle as "anti-development," history consistently proves that he is simply "pro-people."
Chairman, thank you for your "able leadership" and for proving that integrity is not for sale. Your guidance as our executive chairman continues to light the path towards a freer Uganda.
May this year bring you renewed strength to continue the good fight.
Happy Birthday, Counsel Erias Lukwago!

There is another way to look at it: once Amin was in power, Tanzania and other countries helped us get rid of him. Was that foreign interference as well? I read the first speech you gave at OAU where you berated African nations for looking on as Amin butchered Ugandans. So, if we get another Amin tomorrow - that's possible for a nation like Uganda - won't this law make it hard for Ugandans to reclaim their sovereignty from such a dictator as indeed this law would have done if it was passed by Idi Amin as a military decree in 1973?
Sovereignty is a good thing, but the evidence is ALL Ugandan govts have simply used it as a code to persecute political enemies. Obote accused Muteesa of seeking foreign arms to “destabilise” Uganda before the ‘66 raid on the Lubiri, was that true? Didn't the same Obote seek support of British troops to put down a mutiny of Ugandan soldiers just two years earlier? Was that sovereignty? Who was really using foreigners to reign havoc in Uganda? Amin himself massacred tens of thousands he accused of working with foreigners to destabilise Uganda - FACT! Was that true? Not entirely, he simply labelled all his critics, and political opponents agents of foreigners.
Perhaps, in the spirit of sovereignty, the govt should stop taking loans from foreigners and foreign institutions like IMF, World Bank, ADB, and the Chinese. Perhaps it should become a govt policy that ALL children, grand etc govt officials are educated in Ugandan schools, and nowhere else. Can it be the position that all sick Ugandan govt officials be treated in Ugandan hospitals together with their kins? That would truly be sovereignty.
For 47 years, our leader Kizza Besigye has been at the forefront of fighting for freedom.
Today, family, friends, colleagues and political comrades gathered at his offices on Plot 6 Katonga Road to pay respect and celebrate Besigye as an ICON OF DEFIANCE.
A fitting recognition of Besigye's 25 years of leading the struggle to dislodge the NRM regime.
Most political parties, in a significant show of unity, assembled to honour and celebrate Besigye, and congratulate for turning 70 as a dignified leader.

No court has summoned Nyanzi to testify , Nyanzi is a witness of the state against the accused
In no circumstance on earth will a state witness testify against the state like you're trying to pupport
People are misunderstanding the Nyanzi issue and taking it out of context.
Legally court can summon anyone to be a state witness as long as they believe you have relevant information to the case. And you cannot refuse to go since it will be contempt of court.
Let’s give Mr. Nyanzi grace until the case unfolds, they will put him up and we shall hear his testimony. Let’s not be too fast to blackmail.
A lawyer can guide more on this, this is as far as I know🙏
@AAgather
DRC has an elected government and they swore an oath to protect and defend the Congolese and that should be their business
Sympathy will never assist DRC , the world is about interests and every group has to pursue or defend their own
@pallnandi Mainstream media doesn't cover the inhuman acts being committed in the D.R Congo because they are black African men, women & children being killed & exploited.
The west wants Africa's resources but not it's people.
@Grand_PA33 Western puppets or not ,power is never given it's earned and countries are made by shedding blood a lot of sacrifices are made ,the people must learn to hold governments accountable and governments must learn to work for people
The Iranians have been very unclear with their intentions for enrichment from day one! While you state that they (the Iranians) have a right to enrichment, show me one other country, that has openly... Threatened to wipe other countries off the map, every time whenever they have official gatherings. Show me one. This has been their core doctrine right from the start... To decimate western civilization and expand their sialic caliphate to their rest of the world.
Such deranged minds can't be trusted with even 1% of enrichment. Just look at what they have been able to do with their proxies in Yemen, Gaza and now Lebanon. Entire countries have been taken over by this cancer and they have led to the immense suffering of the people there.
They export nothing but death and suffering.
Naye musajja gwe oswaza emyaka jjo, omulimu gwo, but also your employer @nbstv . There is no Uranium that is enriched to 60% and above for medical purposes. Enrichment for medical purposes doesn't even go beyond 30%. For a journalist of your caliber, you are expected to know better.
@SamsonMKasumba Those imaginary views about war have never been observed anywhere on earth in war, Hezbollah is at war with Israel it has a duty to defend it's people like Israel is doing
However there's a report about Uganda's approach in South Sudan ,comment on that as well
You can’t be dishonest and expect to be taken seriously. The US and Israel call a cease fire only to start attacking Iran all over again! So they will say they have out foxed Iran? What happened to decency?
What kind of world is this now?
.@CanaryMugume: What shall the 11th Parliament be remembered for?
Odonga Otto: Getting rich quick. There are no rules, as long as you don't kill anyone.
