This afternoon, I officially opened the Cabinet Induction Retreat at Kyankwanzi. I reminded the leaders that the historical role of the NRM and post-Independence African leadership is socio-economic transformation.
We cannot continue to have people trapped in subsistence production. Our mission is to move every household into the money economy through commercial agriculture, manufacturing, services and ICT. Leaders must guide the people towards wealth creation, value addition and prosperity.
We must build a middle class and a skilled working class. That is the benchmark by which leadership should be judged.
Today, my wife and I paid a courtesy visit to the Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker, Thomas Tayebwa, a humble and truly blessed leader. We are grateful for his invaluable words of wisdom and encouragement on marriage, family, and building a strong home.
And of course, the visit came with an added bonus, we shall be picking up two beautiful cows from his farm in Mitooma next week! 😍🐄.. Thank you, Rt. Hon. for your generosity and warm hospitality. 🙏
Today I received Rashid Walimbwa, former NUP Parliamentary Aspirant for Mbale City Industrial Division, on a courtesy visit.
He has officially joined PLU and is eager to partner with us in advancing our ideology for a stronger Uganda.
Welcome to the PLU family, Rashid!
