NHAI would like to clarify that, as per National Highways Fee (Determination of Rates and Collection) Rules, 2008 and clarification issued vide Ministry of RT&H Office Memorandum No.H-39011/21/2015-(Toll) Vol-ll" dated 24 May 2017, exemption is available only to the mechanical vehicle used for official purposes.
Exemption from payment of user fee shall be applicable upon production of such documents that certifies & authorises the vehicle in charge for official purposes.
However, no exemption is available on the use of personal vehicle, if it is not used for any official purpose.

Also, exemption under the Indian Toll (Army and Air Force) Act, 1901 is available only to the persons, who are 'on duty' and does not pertain to retired personnel. No exemption is available on use of personal vehicle if it is not used for discharging any official purpose and duty, even if it accompanies the said official. The exemption is available only on production of a pass as specified in the Indian Toll (Army and Air Force) Rules, 1942.

Now the rule is about to be ammended. SSC officers will also be allowed to appear for NEET PG during service (after 4 years though).

Major Rohit’s swift and decisive action, under non-clinical and resource-constrained circumstances, is a testament to his medical proficiency, composure under pressure, and unwavering commitment to the ethos of the Armed Forces: Indian Army.
