🥭 China just banned mangoes from Taiwan in an election year for the same reason it banned pineapples, cookies and beer last year when Pelosi visited Taiwan.

Same reason it banned k-pop from South Korea when it was upset about their missile defense system.

Same reason it boycotted H&M and other brands when they agreed to not use forced labor cotton.

Same reason it used to withhold Chinese tourists from any country it was upset at geopolitically in an immature effort to hurt their economy.

See a pattern yet? Asymmetrical economic warfare is not new and the reasons given are never for the reasons they say in their state controlled media.

The difference is, it’s not really working the way it used to because everyone knows the play but it’s the only playbook they know.
