We are launching $Wangchuk, a token dedicated to Sonam sir and his hunger strike happening in India for students.
Students are protesting for the resignation of the corrupt education minister. Under him, students are facing back-to-back paper leaks, and that is impacting millions of students. Many have committed suicide, but the government is not taking any action against him.
We started two accounts to support this protest:

We are launching this token to support the ongoing protest and spread awareness about it all over the world. Part of the fees will be used to hire content creators to produce original content, and some part of the fees will be used to support protesters with food supplies (or whatever they need).

Sonam Wangchuk is an Indian engineer, education reformer, innovator, and environmental activist from Ladakh.
He is best known for founding SECMOL (Students' Educational and Cultural Movement of Ladakh), an organization that promotes practical and experiential learning, and for developing the Ice Stupa technique, which helps store water in cold desert regions.
His work has earned him national and international recognition, including the Ramon Magsaysay Award.
In 2026, Wangchuk has been in the news for participating in a hunger strike and public protests over issues related to education and governance.
His protest has drawn widespread public and political attention, and recent developments include his transfer to a hospital after health concerns during the fast.

Today wasn't just about a protest.
It was about students asking for reforms, exercising their democratic right to speak, and being met with force.
The images and videos circulating online are disturbing-students, women, journalists, and young people being beaten during the lathi charge.
Many have shared footage of injuries and chaos. If the authorities claim a different sequence of events, then every moment should be transparently investigated and all available evidence should be made public.
A democracy is not tested by how it treats those who agree with the government. It is tested by how it treats those who dissent peacefully.
If there were concerns about law and order, why wasn't the situation handled in a way that prevented violence?
If permissions were an issue, why allow tensions to build instead of ensuring a peaceful resolution?
Every time students raise their voices, the narrative cannot simply become "they started it." Accountability requires evidence, not assumptions.
A government that fears questions more than violence has forgotten what democracy is supposed to protect.
This is not the India I want to believe in.
If peaceful voices are answered with batons instead of dialogue, then every citizen should be asking: who is really being protected?
