@Ross_McLaren_@christina_ivey Jamaica was a slave plantation in 1746.
Scotland was legally part of Britain in 1746, after the Scottish Parliament agreed to do so. This “occupation” you speak of is garrisons set up after House Stuart tried to take control of the entire British Isles.
Revolting comparison.
@Annie271k@TheHughAnthony “Neoliberal nationalism” is an oxymoron. Nationalisation of critical industry like British steel is necessary, as it is currently controlled by the Chinese.
@Lochi76271@PeterShoreite@andydamaged@BROKENBRITAIN0@lorraine_teuten Conquest of the desert? The Great European wave of immigration to Argentina?
Argentina is a literal colonial state built on genocide now whinging about being victims of colonialism. If their actually cared about imperialism they would emigrate back to Spain and Italy.
@ZoeJardiniere@Mark_H_87 Openly lying now. Warheads are manufactured and owned by the British gov. The PM has sole command over launch and has no requirement for US approval. The only issue is the missiles need US teams for maintenance, but we could easily go around this rather than disarming.
@CordeliaAppleb1@bigpicturepol “require US approval for use”
No it doesn’t.
I love how the Green Party is spreading this lie so they can deceitfully justified scrapping our deterrence.
Just imagine if Andy Burnham, Zia Yusuf, Zack Polanski and George Galloway all decide to stand in the Gorton and Denton by-election. It could arguably be the most high profile and entertaining by-election in history.
@julesw1lko@olvrlstr@davehrdng@OzKaterji As opposed to wind, wave and solar? All forms of power that have existed longer than civilian nuclear energy.
Not to mention that the long construction of nuclear power plants in this country try is due to poor government oversight, not the technology.
@GrisdaleJohn@PeterShoreite@GerryMedcalf@ScotNational It’s not “fascist propaganda” to point out that not all undocumented are asylum seekers. Yes a lot are, but not all. And it’s this disingenuous and toxicity to label it “fascist propaganda” that will turn many away from backing positions like yours.
@Thelma_DWalker No. The seats the Greens are likely to pick up are former safe Labour seats in inner cities, places where Reform has no realistic chance of winning anyway.
@DanSFC94@PeterShoreite@PoliticsJOE_UK So you think Norway and Spain are socialist then? Because a slight wealth tax on billionaires under a capitalist system, is just more “humane” capitalism and not socialist wealth redistribution.
@bethhartness_@K8wxyz From the 2024 manifesto, GP want to nationalise water, rail and energy. Nothing about steel, telecoms, ship building, investment banks, or having a state directed economy through planning. The 2019 Labour manifesto and McDonnell’s economic policy makes the GPs position look weak.
@vjhakfa So you do not believe that Thatcher was part of one of the “successive governments” that Lee was referring to?
Because your response is based on assumptions, and not what was actually said by either party.
