Crunchyroll is received backlash from fans, especially collectors after putting its online store behind a subscription.

Starting in August, you’ll need one of these memberships to access the Crunchyroll Store:

- Fan – $9.99/month ❌ No store access
- Mega Fan – $13.99/month ✅ Store access
- Ultimate Fan – $17.99/month ✅ Store access

Crunchyroll says the new store will focus on exclusive merchandise, limited-edition items, and other member perks.

It is also introducing new final sale rules, meaning some products can’t be returned unless damaged or defective.
