I want every person in this country with a phone and an internet connection to have the same learning, networking and job opportunities in life as someone born into privilege.
Where they were born, how much they earn, what language they speak - none of such things should ever matter.
Sit in any wedding and watch out for the proudest sentence in the room.
It is almost always about their kids making it in life.
Kids are the parent's resume!
@arpit_vermaniac I have been writing like this for 16+ years that I have been on twitter
I understand short attention span, but laziness doesn't fall into that category.
A 90 minute virtual meeting has 2 people talking, 2 people nodding and 9 people mute spectators with their cameras turned off.
And that is where most careers go to die!
Speak or leave the room.
When you are wounded, it hurts a lot.
The pain is unbearable.
There are tears in your eyes.
Blood coming out from the wound.
But slowly, the pain subsides.
The blood forms a lump.
After a few days, it drops off, leaving behind a pale skin color over what was the wound.
It feels like someone else’s skin.
After a few days, that too disappears and your skin comes back.
It doesn’t look as if there was ever a wound.
You have forgotten how it felt - the pain, the suffering, the blood.
But what if, when the wound was fresh and hurting, you began to scratch it?
It wouldn’t help, right?
Instead, it would make things worse.
The pain wouldn’t go away for long and the scratching would also leave a scar or a mark behind.
Nobody who is smart ever scratches a wound, while it is healing.
We just let it heal.
BUT we don’t do that in real life.
You see, when we fail, when we lose, when we go through a heartbreak, when we suffer - it hurts a lot.
It pains.
There are tears in our eyes.
It feels like we are bleeding.
But slowly, the pain subsides.
It changes us.
A new skin emerges - that doesn’t feel like its ours.
But if we give it time, that too disappears.
And we finally come back to who we were.
By then, we have forgotten how the loss felt, how the breakup felt, how the failure felt.
But what if, in an attempt to deal with the pain, we kept scratching the wound.
We kept repeating in our head - the loss, the suffering, the break up.
It wouldn’t help, right?
Instead, it would make things worse.
The pain wouldn’t go away for long and the scratching would also leave a scar.
Reminding us of that pain, that loss, that break up - forever!
Why would we do that to ourselves?
How we deal with a wound is how we should deal with a loss.
Give it time to heal.
Before saying yes for marriage, ask yourself these 5 questions
1/ Why are you getting married?
Is it for the sake of society?
Is it for your parents?
Or is it for your own sake, your own good?
2/ How do you handle fights with your partner?
Because fights will continue.
How you handle them decides whether this relationship moves forward or not.
3/ Are you aligned on your individual financial responsibilities?
Will you both contribute to expenses? To investments?
How will you share this responsibility?
What happens if one person loses their job or doesn’t want to work?
4/ Do you have space for your own personality?
Your hobbies, your interests, your friends (not just the common ones).
How much of your life is separate from being married?
5/ How will you spend your life after marriage?
What are the expectations from your family?
How will your daily routine look like?
What will be your living arrangements?
Have you thought about having kids?
Your marriage partner is the ONLY family member you get to choose.
It is, in my opinion, perhaps the single most important decision you will make in your life - because it affects your physical, mental, financial and emotional state.
Do not take it in a hurry.
My understanding of economics, of which I don’t claim to be an expert by any measure, suggests otherwise.
Free markets always lead to more innovation, lower pricing for consumers and better standards. There is enough research and evidence to back this up.
It’s the same reason why US AI platforms are facing the heat from Chinese models, where token pricing seems to be an unreal arbitrage.
The problem is that of price dumping.
Is something offered at ‘lower than cost’ in a geography, because there is profit elsewhere. Is a country subsidized until all possible competition is erased.
I feel regulations should focus on this problem, as hard as it is, than try to create artificial local boundaries.
I also reckon that for a relatively poor country such as ours, creating economic borders will take us back to an era that we all have come out from not too long ago.
Power >> Money, when money is still scarce.
We don’t have a native AI model because we don’t yet the ecosystem (combination of talent, hardware, energy, input costs) to build one at the same level and on the same terms, as the best in the world.
