I hate British exceptionalism because of where their mothers gave birth. Moved to EU. FCILT logistics. #FBPE πͺπΊπ¬π§ and an extra π¬π§ for the flag shaggers.
@Steve_Cockerham@Robbbie_Strange@cirian75@NadineDorries Because Steve richer economies means that the domestic work force go into better jobs with better conditions. This happens all around the world, including places like the USA. That is reality.
@Jed94348536 @squierbassvi@mrjamesob Ok Jed, enlighten us all about these proper debates.
I work in Logistics planning & moved to Germany this year due to Brexit.
I work with the simplicity of single market legislation on internal trade every day, but kept on being told it's inefficient red tape by Brexiters.
People will be blamed for panic buying petrol, but I wonder who causes the panic?
If you can't get fuel to the pumps due to driver shortages their is a problem, but right wing media stir this up to deflect the blame onto the people rather than Government.
@de_ryckman@Andrew_Adonis Frederick, the shortages in Europe are about where the UK was 5 years ago.
That's why they are not seeing supply chain breakdown.
The UK shortages doubled in the last 5 years but mainly in the last 12 months.
15k EU drivers left the UK.
@zzonm@Dean7367@Andrew_Adonis True Graham you know very little about logistics.
It is because the customer drives the price of delivery, companies that charge more don't get business.
This is what drives wages down, not foreign labour.
Now go and have a cup of tea grandad the growl at the telly.
@DPJHodges@KateWilton1 Dan I moved to Germany from the UK this year specialising in Logistics. The driver crises is not anywhere near as bad in the EU as the UK. It's equivalent to the UK'S shortage 5 years ago, therefore no breakdown in supply chains.
The UK shortage doubled in this time. #Brexit
@DPJHodges There is a driver crises Dan and if the fuel can not get to the petrol stations because of this, there is a fuel crises.
And yes there is an idiot crises, created by more idiots in the Newspaper you work for creating scare stories.
@JuliaHB1 I wonder how many lives would have been saved if people had ignored you and got vacinated?
That's the scary part Julia, you and nobody has a clue how many people have died due to your lack of responsibility.
@ColourviewTim@BorisJohnson With regard to the wages Joanna this was always down to how much Logistics companies are paid for the work. Driver wages have always been poor. Demonstrated by the UK always having a shortfall in drivers.
@ColourviewTim@BorisJohnson Joanna, no they don't have the same problem, I moved from the UK to Germany this year and specialise in Logistics. Germany has a shortage level similar to the UK had 5 years ago, since Brexit the UK driver shortage has doubled and supply chains are breaking down.
Own your Brexit.
@Jamesburchett14@EdwardJDavey James another ignorant piece of S**t who thinks people trying to stop something happening should be to blame for something happening.
Always going to be a disaster and not #ProjectFear
@RichardFoleher@phillatta@JuliaHB1 Let's to the maths then Richard, the UK has a driver shortage of over 100k with a population of 68m. The population of the EU is 447m.
@RichardFoleher@phillatta@JuliaHB1 Richard, we had a 60k driver shortage before leaving, this can be covered by overtime etc. We the UK now over 100k shortage at this point supply chains breakdown.
There is a shortage in the EU, but not even in the same ballpark as the UK'S problem.
@Budgiekiller@phillatta@JuliaHB1 What is happening is that they are being placed in lorry parks mainly near Dover which is by far the largest RoRo port. If it takes an extra 3 hours to clear paperwork, it makes the driver less productive. Another reason why the Gov. is breaking WTO rules on import checks.
@tintincraig@JuliaHB1 And as for your original statement, you now know that all countries in Europe do Drivers CPC, so I suggest you do some research first before posting.
