@AngryCardio We have had a shortage of physicians (especially primary care) for a while. Growth of training spots is capped by Medicare regulations/funding. Finding a way to train more residents annually is the only pathway to training more physicians and relieving the shortage. Alternative?
@AngryCardio None of the above. Capping any of these will lead to further shortages and not fix underlying problems or misaligned incentives. Allow free market solutions (see DPC, cash-only surgery/imaging centers, Primary Care cures podcast), get rid of CoN laws, train more residents
@ebennett74@ab_peds@AmerAcadPeds You can also always consider alternative certifications like NBPAS; obviously, you have more flexibility if you are not trying to maintain admitting privileges at a hospital. https://t.co/VN1Zah35QZ
@AlietaEck@PierreKory@AAPSonline@IP4PI Thank you! Your approach reminds me of what I read in Chronic by @StevePhillipsMD and @danaparish. lots of eye-opening information in there on chronic infections, including COVID. I wonder if others are having success with treating long-haul COVID
@AngryCardio @UrbaneDoc4Kids @movinmeat @TheAtlantic Of course, in total agreement here. I’ve been surprised innumerable times with the source of great ideas. Judge the idea, not the person or their credentials. Genetic fallacy and credentials fallacy and all that 😁
@AngryCardio @UrbaneDoc4Kids @movinmeat @TheAtlantic If this his the main reason to criticize the argument, then what does it mean that one of the largest Twitter Covid commentators is a nutrition epidemiologist? Or that almost no one who comments on the ethics of policies actually have an ethics or philosophy background?
@ebennett74@AmerAcadPeds They take this position despite the fact that all clinically relevant data have shown no clinical benefit for masks against respiratory viruses, and no difference in COVID infection rates between in-person and virtual students/staff… 🤦♂️
@NorbertineAbbey What awful news! I remember Fr. Graham fondly while he was in formation in Chicago. May He Rest In Peace. Prayers for the 2nd brother.
@DanielTurnerPTF If I remember correctly, you’re up in the northwest. This is more of a Midwest/East coast phenomenon (I’ve been at two, and it’s insane): https://t.co/ym4vnG3yMS
