Often the people we lie to most are ourselves. We spend so much time telling ourselves how we're not good enough, not smart enough, not able enough and don't belong where we are. We've got news for you…
We're donating tactical gear to @warriorsurf to support a fundraising raffle event on the #ussyorktownaircraftcarrier. The Warrior Surf Foundation is a local non-profit who helps veterans heal invisible wounds with FREE surf therapy and surf instruction. https://t.co/PBLUu2o3sL
When you paddle out with a group of Veterans and you look left and right, there’s this intrinsic sense of solidarity and safety. You know that no matter what happens in and out of the water- these people have your back.

There’s something special that the culture of Warrior Surf brings to the ocean. You’ve got this ever-growing population of #Veterans, who have their own ingrained social code, learning to #surf. It’s not a code of individualism chock full of ego, concerned about what others think
It’s a community of people who bring the ideals of the brother and sisterhood of service into the #surf. Spurring each other on, pushing each other to be better, understanding that we all start somewhere, with a deep concern for the #wellbeing of others.
We're beyond stoked and extremely honored to have Phill (@liveamericanyogi) and Andy (@amsurfandwellness) lead the #yoga portion of our Yoga on the Yorktown event on Saturday, June 26 at 6:30 p.m.! Tickets at https://t.co/r7VgA3qnOK
Today some will celebrate a three-day weekend, and some will be vaguely aware of why the weekend is long. For others, the meaning of today hits closer to home as they honor their brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, friends, and families who’ve made the ultimate sacrifice…..
For the things we so often take for granted. Today we remember Warriors who will live on as we breathe life into their legacy by mentioning their names and telling their stories. When you see us quietly circled up in the ocean today, memorializing….
#Vulnerable doesn't mean weak, defenseless, or afraid. The most significant power we have is in being vulnerable with ourselves and the ones we love. You can find it at the top of a mountain or the bottom of the sea-but find it. #veterans#mentalhealth
#Surfing is the great equalizer of the heart and mind. You’re out there in the waves alone with your reactions and emotions. Each moment is a choice in how you will respond to what comes next, when the only control you have is right there in the square inches of your board.
#surftherapy is a solution. It’s more than an adventure. It offers real answers and tools for Veterans and Active Duty members seeking balance physically, mentally and socially.
The power of #surftherapy is that it’s meditative. One human being led into the ocean by another, and beyond words, a message is uttered. “Here again, you are part of something bigger. Here, you sync up with life itself, where balance comes as naturally as the next wave.”
Veterans don’t live out their experiences in a void. Healing is a trickle down experience that brings positive outcomes to countless lives.
Know this: If you’re alive- you have value, you have worth, and you matter.
While our program is free to Veterans and their families there is no price you can trade for the life of one of our brothers and sisters.
For us, the value of life is so real that saving the life of one Veteran is worth whatever it takes. Because, one life is never just one.
