On 2/6, 8th graders tested the acidity of different liquids in Ms. Thomas’s science class. They compared different bottled water brands, like Dasani and Fiji, alongside drinks like Gatorade and sparkling water. Check out our scholars in action! #wgpcs#wolfpack
Thank you to Professor Saad inviting select WGPCS 6th and 7th graders to the Egyptian Embassy's Cultural and Educational Bureau. The students listened to a lecture about Egypt, toured the embassy’s museum, and learned to write their names and other words in hieroglyphics!

On 1/24, Washington Global’s 6th and 7th graders presented PSAs for their classmates about meaningful topics during Service Learning.
The scholars worked on their public speaking, research, and leadership skills, all necessary skills for their final projects.
We will be closed Monday, January 15th in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. Signed into law in 1983, this is the only federal holiday dedicted to a national day of service.
We will reopen Tuesday & students should report to school on Tuesday, January 16th by 8:15am.

From 11/6 until 12/8, our students & faculty participated in a food drive. Our community collected 471 nonperishable food items, filling 17 bags, boxes, and milk crates.
The 701 cohort collected the most food items: a whopping 204 non-perishable food items!

Ms. Berry's sixth graders learned about rational numbers in math class this week! They differentiated between fractions and decimals, as well as positive & negative numbers, as they plotted numbers from lowest to highest on a number line.

On Friday, our eighth graders observed the changing of phases by making root beer floats in Ms. Thomas's science class. They watched the ice cream change from a solid to a liquid and melt into the soda, and enjoyed a delicious treat afterwards!

On 10/17, our 6th grade students created fluid art pieces in math class. They used their understanding of ratios, measurement units, & percentages to calculate which medium to use & calculating the costs of the canvases & paint. They loved the look of their finished art pieces!
