Uganda's biggest gold mining project by Wagagai Ltd launched in Busia District on 5th Oct 2021.
The quantified gold reserves are worthy USD $16 billion which is the equivalent of all the discovered oil reserves in Albertine region.
Uganda's total public debt is $16 billion!

Today at Nakasero, I met Mr. Aliko Dangote and we discussed the proposed East African regional refinery.
I informed him that from the very beginning, we have always opposed the export of raw materials without value addition. That is why Uganda delayed oil production because we insisted on first having a refinery. Without refining our oil, it would not make economic or strategic sense to simply export crude oil while others benefit from the finished products.
I, therefore, welcomed the idea of a bigger regional refinery because our objective is African integration and shared prosperity. We cannot continue operating as fragmented and weak markets. If East Africa works together, such projects become more viable and beneficial to our people.
Uganda is ready to support the regional refinery initiative while also continuing with the development of our own refinery in Hoima.
We should wage "war" against WAR and GREED because they are deceptive LIARS claiming that there isn't enough land, food, shelter, clothing, and wealth for ALL of US on the planet Earth.
Proponents of WAR and GREED are the UNDESIRABLE CRIMINALS against humanity.
No more deaths.
Saturday night’s campfire engagement was a powerful exchange of experience & ideology @NaliKyankwanzi .
Senior leaders @Tumukunde_@jkmuhwezi & @AKyambadde shared hard earned experiences with the newly elected Members of Parliament, grounding them in the values & sacrifices that have shaped our movement.

In our evening session at Kyankwanzi, I warned that corruption will not be tolerated. Those involved are on notice and decisive action will be taken. Leaders, especially in Parliament, must reject bribery and serve with integrity.
I also appreciate our partners, including Rt. Hon. Hassan Omar of the United Democratic Alliance of Kenya, for emphasising the need to overcome fragmented markets and policies in order to achieve Africa’s prosperity.
Retreats like these are important for renewing commitment to our mission of national transformation. I congratulate the MPs on the successful retreat.
I concluded my day with further engagements on the sixth day of the MPs’ retreat in Kyankwanzi. I directed the Chief Administrative Officers (CAOs) that all communication and resources sent to districts, including programmes such as PDM funds, must be shared with Members of Parliament and LCV Chairpersons for transparency and coordination.
I also informed the leaders that Government will soon roll out a nationwide fish farming programme, especially in wetlands, because fish farming requires machinery and deliberate state support beyond the Shs 1 million under PDM.
We are also planning to establish a military barracks in Bulambuli near Kween, a long-standing proposal, and ensure that all government land is utilised productively, including planting seedlings to support agricultural growth.
President @KagutaMuseveni has outlined a plan to roll out a nationwide fish farming project, positioning it as a key intervention to unlock the economic potential of Uganda’s wetlands and boost household incomes.
