She is Masaba Gupta, Indian fashion designer.

She is the founder of House of Masaba.

She is the daughter of actress Neena Gupta and legendary cricketer Viv Richards.

Masaba Gupta used to be a friend of Kangana Ranaut, she even invited Kangana to her wedding in 2015.

However, after 2016, Masaba observed Kangana making communal statements and spreading hatred in society.

In 2020, Kangana made derogatory remarks about 82 year old Mahinder Kaur after she participated in the farmers’ protest.

Following this incident, Masaba began to distance herself from Kangana.

During the release of Kangana’s film Tejas in 2023, Kangana’s stylist approached House of Masaba to source a saree.

House of Masaba made a saree available to Kangana.

Tejas turned out to be a major flop.

Later, Kangana wanted to wear the same saree to a BJP sponsored event, Ram Janmabhoomi Pran Pratishtha ceremony in Ayodhya, in January 2024.

Masaba Gupta allegedly told Kangana’s stylist not to let her wear that saree at the Ram Janmabhoomi event.

She further said that if Kangana wore it, the brand House of Masaba should not be mentioned.

People may have mixed views on Masaba, but the fact is that Masaba Gupta did not want to be seen on the wrong side of history, which is why she did not allow Kangana to wear her saree.
