BREAKING: Veteran journalist Jim Acosta is vindicated in the worst way possible as Trump’s latest outburst proves he IS a danger to democracy and a free press!

Back in Trump’s first term, the former CNN anchor was among the first journalists to sound the alarm that Trump’s antipathy towards journalists presented a serious threat to democracy, a free press, and basic truth.

Naturally, the MAGA world lost its collective mind, accusing Acosta of grandstanding, making it all about himself, and being a rude, overdramatic showboat.

But Trump just spent years proving Acosta right on a daily basis, and it's gotten demonstrably worse during his second term, culminating in yesterday’s angry, sexist attack on CNN’s Kaitlan Collins before she’d even asked her a question.

Acosta posted the receipts last night, resurfacing the infamous 2018 press conference clip where Trump personally berated him and insulted him personally on live television:

“CNN should be ashamed of itself, having you working for them. You are a rude, terrible person. You shouldn’t be working for CNN… You are the enemy of the people.”

Acosta’s question that day was about the Russia investigation, one that Trump clearly didn’t want to entertain. He told him to sit down, and launched into his first major “enemy of the people” rant against the press.

“When I called out Trump years ago for being a danger to democracy, a free press, and truth itself, I was accused of making myself the story and showboating,” Acosta wrote today. “How did things turn out? Trump is all of those things. Tonight, the free press is very much in danger in America. Wake up!”

Like a modern day Cassandra, he was right then, and he’s even more right now, and he should be heard.
Trump never stopped attacking the free press, and has only intensified his derision for journalism, and disrespect for the truth, and accountability.

The pattern of screaming “fake news” whenever he hears something he doesn’t like and launching ad hominem attacks on reporters as professionals and human beings has been part of the playbook since day one, and will continue to be so if we let it.

History has proven Jim Acosta correct. If the United States no longer has a free press, it’s not the same country. That must not happen.

BREAKING: MAGA oligarch Kevin O'Leary CAVES and agrees to scale back his destructive AI data center development in Utah after massive backlash.

Conservatives are losing everywhere....

“I have no choice,” admitted O'Leary. He said that he's "going to have to” scale back the development amidst sustained pushback from the state's political establishment.

Originally, the Shark Tank plutocrat was going to build a sprawling 40,000 acre AI data center campus, energy consumption, noise pollution, and water contamination be damned.

These kinds of developments have become a political flashpoint in numerous states, as local residents buck against the idea of the super-rich further immiserating them for the sake of their own personal profits. The same business and tech overlords who helped foist Trump onto all of us are insisting that AI is "inevitable" and that we should all make peace with losing our jobs and with worsening quality of life.

But we don't have to let them shape the future.

We can fight back.

Utah Senate President J. Stuart Adams, a Republican no less, sent O'Leary a letter demanding that he reduce his development by 75%. Adams didn't do this out of the goodness of his heart. He did it because his constituents made their voices heard. It's the same kind of pushback that, at a federal level, forced Republicans to strip Trump's ballroom funding from their immigration bill.

Adams further demanded “greater transparency, stronger conservation commitments and enhanced protections for Utah’s natural resources,” in particular the Great Salk Lake.

“I know he did it for political reasons. He has to address those issues, and so do I," whined O’Leary, who's not even American. He stated that he will send a formal response to Adams by Friday.
