A 7-year-old girl was walking with her teenage sister when police say a woman suddenly lunged at the teen, grabbed the child, and stabbed her several times in the back.

Witnesses chased down 48-year-old Shavon Gayden and knocked her unconscious before she was arrested. 7-year-old Eddimar Hernandez was rushed to the hospital, where she is pronounced dead.

“My daughter’s death should not be left like this. There must be justice for my little girl. She wasn’t bothering anyone,” Eddimar’s mother said.

@ToddPiro reports police have not released a motive, but Gayden had an outstanding arrest warrant and is described as a repeat offender with a history of violent attacks.

BREAKING: Authorities say they thwarted an alleged plot to attack the Texas State Capitol on the same day President Trump is scheduled to visit the state.

Jonathan Hunt reports 40-year-old Benny Caldera was arrested near San Antonio after authorities received a tip about an alleged plan to "shoot up" the Capitol.
