I'll be presenting at an online webinar on 'Making and managing #Ponds for #Biodiversity ' on Tuesday 15th for Garden Masterclass - hopefully of interest to all those with, or considering, a #watergarden@garden_mclassuk https://t.co/IOh72GCcEr
Great video recapping ways to restore and revive long-overgrown or filled-in #ponds (‘Zombie’ and ‘Ghost’ ponds) in the countryside, and the speedy way in which nature and #waterlife bounces back @TheIWGS
Fun Fact Friday:
Did you know? Adders can swim💧
Only observed a few times, adders are able to swim just like grass snakes. It is not known how common this behaviour is, though it is likely very situational!

A story of grotesque corporate greed and catastrophic failure of regulation. @thameswater is now debt-ridden to the tune of more than £15 billion and has secretly lobbied Whitehall to secure huge bill hikes. Illegal sewage dumping will continue and customers will be ripped off. This is beyond farcical https://t.co/SnaLPfpnx2 @Annaisaac

@LeifBersweden I’ve seen at least a couple of species (of Potamogeton and Ranunculus - still pond types) which I’ve assumed have been brought in by ducks. Researchers have shown that carp eggs can pass through duck guts. I’m sure plant seeds can too.
Enjoying the gardens with the #IWGS24
Group at Sezincote, Wisley, and Kew amongst others. Great chatter and shared expertise from visitors and garden staff @TheIWGS
