@ukhomeoffice It’s beautiful! Shame it’s not as useful as the previous one whose design (a) was entirely the UK’s gift anyway and (b) allowed the bearer the right to work, study and retire across Europe.
But well done on the design. It’s a lovely thing to stare at in the long passport queues.
At @MaggiesCentres Edinburgh the garden is starting to fill out nicely. We planted herbaceous plants, shrubs, trees and pleached beech hedging in the new garden including two trees gifted by @TheBotanics and thanks to Janet Thomas and the Centre’s volunteers it’s looking lovely!
We started a second phase of work at a garden in the South side of Edinburgh today. Last year’s planting by Secret Gardens Design was looking stunning in the sunshine.
A new job we started in Edinburgh last week for Carolyn Grohmann promises to be a rewarding one. Client meeting this morning to go over layout, pathways, soil improvement - all the important basics of any design.
We're hiring! Water Gems needs both skilled experienced landscapers and less experienced labourers to handle our workload. If you want to join an award-winning team building some of the most exciting landscaping projects in Scotland, get in touch. [email protected]
@Edinbirder Phil, this is Nick from Friends of Cammo. We are about to go live with a Friends of Cammo website. Would it be possible to put on some of your wonderful photos of Cammo wildlife?
Apparently these string lines have been set up to establish levels for a pond but it does look like some bizarre puzzle that Heath’s attempting to figure out.
Chilly for outdoor work right now. -5° in Edinburgh first thing this morning but luckily we’ve got lots of work that doesn’t involve cement. Roll on the thaw!
In exciting news, Nick has been invited to speak about our wetland and boardwalk work at the @AECOM UK and Ireland Ecology Conference. The event takes place in Birmingham on Wednesday 5th December. #watergems#ecologyconference#boardwalk#wetlands
@Edinbirder Phil, my husband, Nick Benge, whom you know from Friends of Cammo, would like to use some of your wonderful photos for his slide show at the Friends' OGM on 5th December. Please could you give him a ring on 07734 386243 or email him at [email protected]. Thanks.
Water Gems interrogates two fire extinguishers to learn their secrets as part of our Monday morning meeting yesterday. It turns out that Co2 can be used on all fires and water only on those that don’t involve liquids or electricity. Very illuminating.
