Introducing: A WaterWise Nation💧
Act Today. Sustain Tomorrow.
South Africa is running dry. From climate change to leaking pipes and poor habits, our water future is under serious threat. But together, we can turn that around.
A WaterWise Nation is a national movement led by the Water Research Commission calling on every South African from industries to households to rethink, reduce, and respect water.
- Build resilient businesses
- Create water-smart homes and schools
- Empower change through education
- Protect our shared future
This isn’t just about saving water. It’s about changing how we value it. Because what we do with water today, we live with tomorrow.
Join the movement. Be the change.

The Let’s Fix Our Rivers! handbook series turns complex river rehabilitation science into clear, practical guidance for action on the ground. Developed through a three-year WRC project, these easy-to-read, illustrated handbooks put proven rehabilitation principles into the hands of government officials, farmers, community groups and citizen scientists, showing how damaged rivers and wetlands can be repaired, re-wilded and protected for the future.
