For various reasons, including, disturbingly, threat of expropriation of our home waters by our neighbours (or neighbors) to the south, WaterWealth is changing up our online presence.

Juvenile fish surveys are part of the Road Salt & Salmon project, a 5 yr study with partners across the Lower Mainland looking at effects of road salt on salmon.
Here's a bit of what a camera in the stream saw during a survey in Peach Creek, Chilliwack.

Deer Creek Off Channel flows again! '21 atmospheric rivers destroyed it soon after the last time it was fixed. DFO installed this new, more robust design last week. Habitat it flows to will have salmon spawning soon! ❤️

Wild salmon cycles are energy and nutrient cycles, contributing to healthy, abundant waterways, forests, and species from bugs to bears to birds!
(Thanks to Pacific Salmon Foundation for the image and inspiration on Wild Salmon Day!)
Two of these fine friends celebrated their birthdays today by joining in the Chilliwack River Cleanup Society Spring Cleanup!
What better way to celebrate than to get outside with friends and care for places we love!
Great weekend at the Chilliwack Rotary Climate Fair.
Really good conversations had and connections made. Interesting displays and speakers. The only down side is that it's only once a year!
Thanks to Robyn and all the Rotary and Rotary Interact volunteers. See you next time!
Three-spined sticklebacks, Luckakuck Creek, Chilliwack. Males make a nest, 'dance' to entice a female to place eggs in it, then look after the eggs & the young for the first few days of their lives.
These amazing little fish can be found in most streams in the Fraser Valley.

This sign says 85% of wetlands have been destroyed. The new TMX #tarsands pipeline destroyed more recently and Beedie group wants to destroy a wetland near WestCreek in Langley. @LynnPerrin9@FVClimateAction
Action alert! An unprecedented amount of gravel will be mined from the Vedder River this summer. The problem? This year is an odd-numbered year, & pink salmon are expected to return in huge numbers to spawn in the Vedder. Removing their spawning gravel is a big no-no. (1/2)
Busy baby kwṓx̱weth (coho) in a stream up the Chilliwack River Valley today. They stay in fresh water up to two years, so are in pretty much every waterway in the Fraser Valley year round. One reason we need to keep contaminants out.
