On the occasion of the 62nd anniversary of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC), we celebrate more than six decades of unwavering commitment to regional cooperation, peace, security, and sustainable development in the Lake Chad Basin.
Since its establishment on May 22, 1964, in Fort Lamy (now N’Djamena), the LCBC has worked tirelessly to strengthen solidarity among its Member States, promote the sustainable management of water resources, and improve the livelihoods of the region’s populations.
On this commemorative day, we pay tribute to the visionary leadership of the founding fathers, as well as to the continued dedication of Member States, partners, and stakeholders committed to building a resilient, peaceful, and prosperous Lake Chad Basin.
Together, let us reaffirm our commitment to a future rooted in cooperation, dialogue, and hope for both present and future generations.
Happy 62nd Anniversary to the LCBC! 🎉
