@YuanfenYang@Jonathan_Hinder@FT Given that Paula Barker MP stated that the bond markets would have to “fall in line” with a Burnham premiership, I’m not sure they know what they’re talking about.
@DCBMEP Is there a greater example of this country’s rotting core than a Justice Secretary who doesn’t understand the value of equality before the law?
I do think Rupert Lowe has substance. He is a clear and efficient communicator, and he has real courage. His contribution to shifting the Overton window has been considerable. But as for his prospects of getting anywhere near the levers of power — I would place that somewhere in the region of 0.
@GuidoFawkes If your response to AI — the modern printing press on steroids — is to ask what the consequences will be for benefits, you really do need sectioning.
@GoodwinMJ Starmer is perfectly happy to politicise murder when it suits him. Murder which shines a blinding spotlight on his State’s failures? Not so much.
@MillennialWoes Yet some bloke who pushed a bin towards a police line will be in Court within 24 hours. Funny how the Court backlog can disappear when politically convenient.
@Harry_pitt@owenjonesjourno I have never understood this logic. No one has ever suggested we do not have home-grown criminals and psychopaths. The argument is simply that we ought not to import more of them from the third world. Yet another case of deliberately misunderstanding their opponent’s position.
This is the consequence of electing low-grade politicians. They do not care about the future of Britain beyond the next election. All decisions are made to appease their voter base, rather than to improve the country over which they have been granted stewardship. Gone are the days of statesmen in Parliament.
