248/400 Resident Evil 90/100
Truly scared me and the horror is over the top and repulsive in the best way possible.
References to the other resident evil are top notch.
Cast are superb and the monster designs are just hideous and nightmare fuel.
Highly recommend checking it out.
247/400 The End of Oak Street 60/100
Just didn't quite work for me. Felt there was a lack of tension but there were a few interesting choices.
A bit of a soppy ending but was pleasent enough and just think it will be forgettable.
246/400 Spiderman: Brand New day 77/100
I love spiderman but woukd have preferred more time with spiderman than the character who was introduced. Just not a favourite.
The cast were great and loved seeing the punisher interacting with Spiderman.
Glasgow has never looked better.
245/400 The Odyssey 80/100
Enjoyed in Imax and felt worth the extra money. Enjoyed the tale and the mythos.
Cast did an excellent job.
The practical effects on this one is insane and really made a difference.
Length was a bit intense but a lot to cover.
244/400 Evil Dead Burn 85/100
This movies once again cements a strong part of the Evil Dead franchise.
The opening scene was destructive and really set the tone for this entry.
It is violent, bloodthirsty and brutal.
Only downside is the family are dicks and don't want sympathy
243/400 Supergirl 74/100
Some joy but didn't quite work for me compared to Superman.
Cast did a great job but the same as Toy Story 5 not really any plot development.
Most of the soundtrack was decent however the cover of In the middle was a terrible choice for me.
242/400 Toy Story 5 70/100
No real plot development but always nice to spend more time with the toys.
4DX was fine. Some action, effects leading once again to fun but nothing to write home about.
Also justice for replacing Timothy Dalton as Mr prickle pants.
241/400 Scary Movie 20/100
Just not my vibe. Nostalgia just didnt make any of the jokes land and honestly was quite tame.
Don't think I laughed out loud once, it was tepid and not the great start to potentially more time in this universe.
Covered some great movies just isn't one.
240/400 Backrooms 67/100
Interesting concept, going in knowing nothing felt it clued me in & delivered a solid world.
Ending is quite decisive & the villian could have been so bad but they delivered a rather campy party piece.
Not sure I will ever look at yellow wallpaper again
239/400 The Mandalorian and Grogu 79/100
It's not the epic that it could have been. Yet up on the big screen the story becomes more than it would ever have been in the living room.
Grogu continues to be one of the cutest additions to geek fandom.
Decent but not brilliant.
238/400 The Christopher's 70/100
Demonstrating the brilliance of Ian Mckellen, commanding the screen and delivering another great performance.
James Corden is perfectly cast as an idiot greedy son.
The art is stunning and hopefully they can release some prints.
237/400 The great sheep detectives 49/100
A bit too camp and lacked the humour I was expecting from the trailer. On the other hand did not deliver a strong whodunnit. Felt more like a hallmark detective story then the gem it could have been.
Cast were fine and delivered.
236/400 The devil wears Prada 2 75/100
I loved the first one & was weary on going back into this universe. While not quite there with the first one it was great to go back in & spend time with the cast.
Little references back to the first film & then it tries to find its own feet
235/400 Exit 8 65/100
It was fun and had some epic moments. A bit like Iron lung trying something different and it kind of worked.
Great to see another piece of world cinema and a slice of another country culture.
The effects in the most part were well done and enjoyable
234/400 Stand by me 93/100
It's a classic for a reason and it was fantastic to see it on the big screen.
Covers the material well and the cast is stunning and perfection.
A movie that everyone should see at least once.
A journey that can teach everyone something about themselves
233/400 They will kill you 30/100
There was nothing really too positive I found in this mash up of genres. Another film that should have stuck to 1 or 2 max.
Cast is wasted, run time feels bloated and there is nothing new offered here that hasnt already been done 10 times better
232/400 Ready or not: Here I come 70/100
Felt it was a fun sequel that delivered one decent death scene but did not otherwise manage to deliver the usual more blood, deaths we expect from a horror sequel
Casting is fantastic and feel like this story is now a good place & is done.
231/400 Project Hail Mary 82/100
Truly a new epic with fantastic performances from Ryan and the rest of the cast.
Rocky is awesome and the work put into them is just unbelievable.
Would not recommend 4DX for the experience as just a little low key for most of the film.
230/400 James Acaster Cinemagoers welcome 84/100
Great to see the tour as didnt get to see it live. An excellent concept and interesting to see how it worked in 3 different places.
Fun but maybe not his best material. Felt he was strongest with dealing with the unexpected heckles
229/400 How to make a killing 73/100
A bit of fun and Glen Powell once again cementing himself as a leading man.
An excellent structure and some interesting deaths made this quite fun for me.
A lavish shallow adventure that the ending was not quite there but still worth a watch
