@smallwars I was concerned about the rise of social media and its effects on cognitive dissonance in warfare nearly 20 years ago when I worked for the UK MOD. Not a surprise, just leadership takes it more as a priority these days.
Random comment after an assembly on knife crime:
‘Miss, can I carry a sword in London?’
‘No, you can’t, but I can.’
‘Eh?’
‘I’m a Freeman of the City of London, but we tend not to carry naked swords anymore.’
‘Nice one, Miss’

@benjaminbutter This week I’m teaching the concept of a Just War to my Y8 Reflective Studies classes. There’s a section on 9/11. I gave them insight of what it was like on the day - I was working in the MoD press office in Whitehall.
@ScarredForLife2 I’ve been teaching my Year7s about smoking and vaping this term, finishing with a lesson to make an advert about giving up. I showed this ad. Every one of them thought it was very, very grim. It was the close up on the face that did it.
