80 to 90% of White Americans today descend from Europeans who came to the United States after slavery ended. Their ancestors didn’t fight for America’s independence because they weren’t even here. Black Americans were here, and thousands fought, sacrificed and died in the Revolutionary War to help secure America’s independence. Black Americans have been part of this country from the beginning. So fuck @JakeLang and anyone else who tries to tell Black Americans they don’t belong when Black Americans have been here longer than 80 to 90% of them and have done more than enough to earn their place in this country.
