Our children loved a visit from Daniel Edozie (ex Bristol Flyers player) in assembly this morning. Daniel told the children about his life and the importance of being positive and embracing challenges. Daniel was so kind in staying afterwards to sign autographs and share a dunk!

Children in KS2 (Years 3 - 6) should recognise this sheet! We are trying something new during lunchtimes by providing children with one of these sheets on each table to encourage good quality talk, discussion, debate etc as part of our focus on 'oracy'.
Photos from this morning's assembly, including children who won the FOW Winter Trail and Creative Competitions (prizes to be collected from the office for these). We hope everyone has a great weekend!
Our final assembly of term was fun! We listened to our staff choir and sang some silly songs! We wish all children, families and everyone in our communities a really happy Christmas!
Year 4 have had a fantastic time learning about circuits put their knowledge of conductors, insulators and circuitry to the test! They worked in teams to create an electrical circuit and test various classroom objects to see if they are electrical conductors or insulators.
Year 3 have created Winter pictures to go inside the picture frames that they have made. The skills that they have used were: sawing, gluing, measuring and painting. As you can see, the children are incredibly proud of the outcome.
Year 1 built houses in Science to test some materials and their properties. They needed to include a door, window, rug and roof. They discussed having a waterproof roof, transparent window, soft rug and strong door. They worked together well and were excited to see the results.
Our Anchor class had a wonderful afternoon taking part in Christmas activities with their adults. They made their own gingerbread people, played Christmas songs altogether and made some yummy biscuits! Thank you to the adults who joined us; we hope you enjoyed the afternoon! βπ

We were really proud of our Year 6 pupils who visited the Lifeskills Centre yesterday; they listened/participated well and were really engaged. A huge thank you to all the volunteers at Lifeskills, who give up their time to provide these really valuable experiences!
Photos from today's assembly...well done to all those who had a certificate. Also some examples of work shared with the Principal and Vice Principal, as well as a group who won some time with Mr Smith, drinking hot chocolate (they were great company!).
Parents/Carers, we seem to have accumulated a lot of lost property. If anyone recognises any of this, please ask to pick it up from the office. If the weather allows, we will put these tables at the front of the school 8:40am and 3pm.
For Year 4's RE topic this term, they have also been looking at the Nativity story. The children have been looking at what symbols they notice from the story and from other traditions. Christingles are a symbol of the holiday; Year 4 had great fun creating them!
Please note that due to staff absences there will be periods of time today when our school phone line is not answered. If there is an emergency, please keep phoning. We apologise in advance for any inconvenience this causes.
Year 3 have been learning all about the Nativity story and have also been discussing traditions that they have with their families. They devoted the first day of Advent by creating Christingles! The children were very engaged and eager to create this popular Christmas tradition!
Year 4 have really enjoyed the beginning of their electricity unit in Science. Today, they worked together to understand how electricity moves around a circuit, before being scientists and investigating the best way to create a working circuit!
Well done to all children who were awarded with certificates in assembly today. There have also been some really good pieces of work shared with the Principal and Vice-Principal this week, showing the progress that a lot of children are making.
A big thank you to our parents and carers for supporting the travelling book fayre again this year. As a result, you raised Β£440.66, which have been spent on books chosen by the children (photos with some examples). Also, thank you to Mrs Kelson who has again made this happen!
