Remember when every Canadian political leader was briefly obsessed with removing internal trade barriers and then all collectively did absolutely nothing to do so?
Pepperidge Farm remembers.
Did you know?
Muslims don’t take over and block streets to pray in Qatar, Dubai or even Saudi Arabia, the birthplace of Islam. It’s illegal and considered disruptive.
They only do it in the West to assert dominance.
The funniest part of this "trade war" that Canada is trying to have with America is that we don't even allow free trade between provinces. Canada tariffs itself.
Canada cannot survive without America. They are by far our largest trading partner, our only neighbour, and represent 25% of the entire World's economy. These insane attempts by the Liberal Government to "fight" America will only bring economic ruin.
So Mark CARNEY travelled to the United States yesterday & spent time with President Trump, and 24 hours later Trump is now IMPOSING 50% Tariffs on Canadian GOODS
WOW, what a trip that was. Elbows up 🇨🇦
Trump just imposed 50% tariffs on Canadian goods.
Section 338 of the 1930 Tariff Act.
The highest rate the President can impose under that authority.
Effective in 30 days.
The three areas:
- Autos
- Alcohol
- Dairy
The White House calls out Doug Ford, “Canadian discrimination against the commerce of the United States,” targeting his provincial ban on American alcohol.
Ford himself, five months ago: “It’s obviously working, it’s an irritant.”
Yesterday it stopped being an irritant.
It became a 50% tariff on Canadian wine, beer, and spirits.
Meanwhile, Carney has held ZERO formal trade rounds with the US in the last 3 months.
The US confirmed yesterday that there are “no currently formal negotiations.”
The USMCA is being exited.
The Chinese are tariffing our farmers.
The UAE cancelled its investment.
Korea withdrew $3.1 billion.
And now the Americans are taxing our exports at 50%.
Ford poked the bear & ruined initial talks.
Carney refuses to negotiate.
Now Canadians pay for the incompetence of both.

Researching the Assembly of First Nations lobby group for a column.
They suck in $55 million, almost all from taxpayers.
Most of the budget is eaten by travel and salaries.
They then dedicate 1.09% of spending to publications & promotion.
Defund them.
EXCLUSIVE: The Black Hawk is the most used firefighting helicopter in the world.
Except Canada.
Transport Canada banned it here in 2024.
Then banned US operators from bringing them in in 2025.
The most used heavy firefighting helicopter in the world is operated with a near perfect safety record in:
- The United States
- Australia
- Europe
- New Zealand
- South America
- Asia
- South Africa
But Transport Canada banned it.
Twice.
The RCMP is exempted for border patrol.
It’s the same aircraft type, but different rules
Alberta’s next water bombers don’t arrive until 2031
The country that manufactures the world’s best water bombers can’t use the world’s best firefighting helicopters.
Because Transport Canada says they are unsafe here, but are remarkably fine everywhere in the world.
Every reason cited for the ban is contradicted by the safety record in every other country.
Every year we lose more forest.
Every year we lose more homes.
Every year Transport Canada blocks the fleet that could help.
So yes, the federal government is partially to blame.
Canadians deserves to know the truth
B.C. wants a royalty on Alberta oil moving west.
About 900,000 containers from B.C. ports move east through Alberta every year.
For every $1 per barrel B.C. charges Alberta, a reciprocal toll would be about $900 per container charged to B.C.
Fair is fair. Alberta can do better.
