🇵🇱🇮🇱 Poland bought Israeli spyware to catch criminals. Instead, it ended up being used to spy on politicians, journalists and lawyers.

But here's the part that's even more disturbing.

Polish authorities apparently didn't even have full control over the software. The Israeli company behind Pegasus reportedly retained remote access, while sensitive data passed through servers outside Poland.

A government spying on its own people using technology that a foreign company could still access.

Now seven former officials face charges over the scandal.

And we still don't know who outside Poland may have had access to all that information.

Kruger National Park generates US$330 million each year while Gonarezhou generates a paltry $750k. Why am I angry? People that were moved remain poor. Some of them lost productive land and never recovered. Some of them are alive today. Today, Gonarezhou is being managed by Gonarezhou Conservation Trust which comprises ZimParks and Frankfurt Zoological Society. Locals don't have a say nor a stake.

All the Hlengwe people that were moved to areas like Xingele , Xitanga, Matibi etc remain the poorest. Now, given this history ,the vastness & the economic potential of GOnarezhou, it is an injustice for the government to collude with a few operators in the name of sustainability while depriving opportunities for people who suffered for that game park to be there.

Gonarezhou is 1.5% of Zimbabwe. Ministry of Tourism should not be content with just 40 visitors per day. At a bare minimum an economic corridor should be established which extends from Mwenezi/Rutenga, Boli, Malipati, Chilonga on the south and Ngundu, Triangle , Chiredzi, Chisumbanje on the north. Focus being transit road construction, increase of current boarding capacity from a paltry 103 to 1000 rooms. Upgrading of Buffalo Range Airport etc.

Gonarezhou can sustain 1500 visitors a day without even flinching. If each one spends $50 on economic activity, that's $30 million annual injection to the local economy.

This my friends is why I am angry at 15 000 annual visitors.
