I find it funny you don’t understand the difference between needing to do something to earn heaven and doing good because you love Jesus. You can never be good enough to enter heaven. Nothing you do will earn your spot there. You can however be a follower of Jesus and do good things - not to get you into heaven but because you love Jesus. The thief on the cross did no good works. Jesus told him that he would be in his kingdom today.
