Today, Miramar broke ground on a transformational project years in the making โ Miramar Cove.
Nearly a decade ago, I shared a vision to reimagine Red Road & Miramar Parkway into a true destination for our residents. Today, that vision is reality through a $1.5B investment by Sunbeam that will redefine our Town Center with dining, entertainment, recreation, public spaces, & a signature central cove.
The future of Miramar is bright.

Tune in to Facing South Florida with at 8:30 am Jim Defede on @CBSMiami 4 to learn more about Miramarโs position on the latest developments surrounding the incinerator. I will be the second segment.
โOur message is simple: Miramar says โnoโ to the Miami-Dade incinerator,โ Miramar Mayor Wayne Messam said at a Wednesday morning press conference. โWeโre taking action, and we are consulting experts and preparing to challenge the proposal in every way necessary and possible. We will not be bullied into accepting a flawed project. We are ready for a fight and determined to win.โ

To be build the countryโs largest incinerator at the Airport West site an 1/8 of a mile from Miramar, puts 250,000 residentsโ health at risk. Must we only burn trash while other more sustainable & environmentally safe methods are available? #Unforgivable
