Father,

Your word is living and active, sharper than any two edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and spirit, joints and marrow, discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. So search us. Cut away what is false. Expose what is hidden. Let Your truth do its holy work in us.

You have promised a Sabbath rest for Your people. Teach us to strive to enter that rest, not by our own strength, but by trusting fully in the finished work of Jesus. Guard us from unbelief. Keep our hearts soft and obedient to Your voice today.

And because we have a great High Priest, Jesus the Son of God, who sympathizes with our weaknesses, we draw near with confidence to the throne of grace. We ask for mercy where we have failed and grace to help in our time of need.

Anchor our restless hearts in Your rest. Shape us by Your word. Hold us steady by Your grace.
