Truly heartbroken to post this on behalf of the Keegan family... It is with immense sadness that we announce that Kevin Keegan has passed away at the age of 75. The former England player and manager had been battling cancer and was surrounded by his wife and daughters in his final moments. Kevin, a double Ballon D’or winner, was a much loved husband, father and grandfather. The family would like to thank Kevin’s incredible medical team for all their support. This is a hugely difficult time and they are requesting space and privacy.

What the campaigns strip out is that the same authors split that number into three parts, because the three parts are not the same thing at all. Green water is rain. It falls on the grass. The cow eats the grass. For beef, green water is about 94 per cent of that headline. Blue water is the stuff that matters. Rivers, lakes, aquifers. The stuff that gets pumped, metered, fought over in court, and does not come back. Now, with a possible move to Number 11 on the table, he is privately signalling he will approve production at the Jackdaw gas field. The vandalism argument has not changed. His career prospects have. An industry source put the real motive plainly: Miliband sees approval as a way of showing willing to the City. Not to the 1.4 million households Jackdaw could heat this winter. Not to the union boss who warned his appointment as chancellor would strangle job creation. To the markets, whose confidence he now needs more than he needs his own principles to survive intact. Conviction, it turns out, was never the obstacle to drilling. Ambition was the only thing capable of overriding it. Look at what has changed in the meantime, and what has not. Energy bills are 13 per cent higher than in April. Wealthy residents are drawing up exit plans over fears of a new CGT regime he may soon be responsible for setting. Britain still imports gas at a premium while sitting on fields it refuses to develop. None of that moved him while he held only the energy brief. What moved him was the prospect of a bigger one, and with it, a market reaction he could not afford to mishandle. Even the manner of this conversion tells its own story. It was a modelling exercise and er.… not actual mortality UKHSA found NO excess mortality during the May heatwave. And in the 2 published ONS weeks covering most of June’s heatwave, death registrations were actually 918 BELOW expected. But the hysterical headlines pushed the narrative as if it was fact. As always, question everything.

Ahhh …. Net Zero, is supposed to protect the environment isn’t it? So we’re concreting over 850 acres of countryside with Britain’s biggest AI data centre. (Concrete being one of the key materials we’re told is carbon intensive and destroying the climate) It will need about 1.5GW of electricity (about 3% of the UK’s peak demand), and with vast amounts of rainwater that would ordinarily fall on agricultural land and serve rivers and reservoirs. (I thought we had a water shortage?) And don’t talk about jobs haha, these are short term construction, after that these sheds are mostly automated. So what we’re basically saying is that existential climate change isn’t as important as the infrastructure required to control us … interesting priorities. Got it!
