@TheDesertLynx@JT_Livingstone I would say limited supply is also an issue when people don't spend fearing the value will go up. Same effect as deflation.
@KanikaBK Why I disagree with this is the fact that it still takes massive compute to run frontier-like open-weight models. It just means the US would focus more on chip manufacturing and data centre construction
@scottstts Why do you think that will happen when it hasn't been done with technology so far? We all still share all of our most personal information with Google, Microsoft, Meta, etc. People are now already doing it with AI where they discuss childhood traumas and more.
@TheDesertLynx Thanks for the tips. I do wonder how important local LLMs will be to us in the future. Currently, the world seems comfortable with the convenience trade off of data sharing
@TheDesertLynx Well a single question took 36 minutes to answer using qwen3.6:27b on a Mac Mini M4 32GB. I had never heard the fans turn on til then too
@SimonDixonTwitt Phishing attacks imminent. Beware of emails with your name claiming that you need to take some action to secure your funds. Same happened to Ledger customers a few years back
@AlexFinn Sovereign AI is good but not for the reason you mentioned. If the internet and power is being cut off, there's more to worry about than whether you have access to inference.
@Vladcostea We appreciate the honesty as it’s valuable to share failures as well as successes. Good luck with what you work on next. Easy peer to peer digital money would be cool. No matter what chain it works on
@IvanOnTech Perhaps if Coinkite was failing then that’d be an exit worth doing. Otherwise why destroy a company’s reputation for a tainted stack? It was probably something that they got complacent about and no one noticed the risk.
I need some Claude Churning tasks. Things that are productive but short so they don't take me away from the task I'm focused on. Otherwise it's easy to fall down rabbit holes while waiting for jobs to complete.
Any ideas @grok?
