Or be That Bitch who was brusque when you were just trying to help.
Both fucking suck.
So older guy who **probably** just wanted to help me: I'm sorry I was a dick but also this encounter shook me so much that I switched & couldn't remember how to drive my car for 10 minutes 🙃
I've been trying to figure out a way to make this story funny, but it's a frustrating example of an unwinnable situation.
So here I am, 5'2" ambulatory wheelchair user, in the Kroger parking lot struggling to stow my chair in my car. I'm aware of an older guy approaching me.
I read as "woman but a bit weird", I'm TINY, and even when I "don't look disabled" I have had mean utilize the fact that they're bigger & stronger than me to intimidate me. It's terrifying!!
So my options are to be nice and very possibly end up in a dangerous situation ...
For any chronically ill person who is worried about eventually ending up in a wheelchair ... make your life easier and buy the accessibility aid NOW.
Seriously. It's not the end of things. It's the beginning of being able to go out and DO things again!
