Thank you to all who signed. The view of the public has been clear from the start - having badly let down the constituency, Bone's refusal to resign has cost untold thousands in holding this recall petition. But now there is a chance for people to vote for a new direction.

When it comes to Cllr King Lawal, "sorry" really is the hardest word.

He used his position as a councillor in both Wellingborough and Rushden to compare LGBT+ to Satan. His non-apology shows no contrition or remorse.

Homophobia is once again welcome in the Conservative Party.

As we said last week, we are appalled by the findings of the House of Commons who today upheld the report on Peter Bone's misconduct, triggering a recall petition for a by-election.

The time is long overdue for Peter Bone to resign as MP: no ifs, not buts. Do the decent thing.
