Eritrea 🇪🇷 is quietly building one of Africa’s strongest models of self-reliant development—starting with water.
In a region facing drought & scarcity, Eritrea is digging, damming & delivering.
Here’s what the world needs to know. 👇
2/
Since independence, Eritrea has built 800+ dams, reservoirs & water systems.
Not with foreign aid.
But through community mobilization, local engineers & national vision. 💧
3/
The result?
• Year-round irrigation
• Food security for rural families
• Green landscapes where there was once dry land
• Access to clean water in remote areas
This is real transformation. 🌾
4/
Dams like Gerset, Kerkebet & Logo have turned dry valleys into fertile zones.
Villagers now harvest multiple crops a year.
Subsistence farming is evolving into sustainable agriculture. 🌱🌊
5/
Schools & clinics in remote areas now have clean water—thanks to solar pumps & rainwater harvesting.
No NGO. No waiting. Just action. 🔋🏫
6/
Eritrea’s model is simple but rare:
— Build what you need
— Use what you have
— Depend on no one
#SelfReliance at work. 🔧🇪🇷
7/
Youth, elders & women all play a role:
• Tree planting
• Soil conservation
• Volunteering for public works
This isn’t just infrastructure—it’s nation-building. 🌍
8/
Eritrea proves that sovereignty isn't just political. It's practical.
If you can build your own water system—you control your future.
This is what many African states are still struggling to do.
9/
This story rarely gets told.
But Eritrea is a case study in:
✅ Local ownership
✅ Low-cost development
✅ Long-term vision
✅ Climate resilience
✅ Dignity
10/
In a world full of dependency narratives, Eritrea is quietly rewriting the script.
Don’t sleep on this.
🇪🇷 Water is life—and Eritrea is building it, one dam at a time.

🚨⚡️In Ethiopia, Fano rebel forces launched a large-scale attack in Gondar, Amhara region, killing over 650 government soldiers, injuring many, capturing dozens, and taking control of several towns, including Nefas Mewcha.

@Winta_eri Happy New Year my dear sister 🇪🇷❤️ I’m so proud of you and your dedication. May the year ahead be filled with blessings, peace, and joy. Much love. 🇪🇷2026.
@Sharronyemane Agreed. Our beliefs may differ, but kindness and respect define who we are. Friendship should always be stronger than our differences. .Best wishes to all for a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ♥️🙏🎄✨
@TiborPNagyJr This is absolutely a lie. Eritrea’s decisions regarding IGAD are based on sovereignty and principle, not tantrums. Refusing to kneel to external pressure or flawed regional bodies does not make someone a dictator it means choosing independence over empty symbolism.
@GhideonMusa East Africa is pushing for peace, cooperation, and stability. Meanwhile, Abiy Ahmed remains addicted to conflict and internal crises. The regional game is changing, and he is increasingly isolated from the moves shaping the future.

@addisstandard It’s hard to take these calls seriously when the UN couldn’t enforce the agreement in the first place. Eritreans 🇪🇷 haven’t forgotten the years of delays and double standards.
From The Athletic FC: This is Alexander Isak, now the most expensive Premier League signing ever: a unique personality, intense but also laid-back and introverted. https://t.co/JdxfHUxOlb
