And we don't need corrupt "authorities" with a vested interest in misrepresenting the nature and seriousness of ME, "authorities" who push unethically tested treatments that actually harm pwME, on any panels of "ME experts."... /10
We certainly don't need so-called "information" sources like the UK Guardian making it worse by raising up the voices of non-experts whose research is held up by respected institutions as an example of flawed and corrupt work. /9
Those who hold a deep sense of entitlement may truly believe our criticism of them is equal to the egregious harm they do to us. But that doesn't make it true and it doesn't make their behavior acceptable or okay or anything but dangerous. 7/
False equivalencies are one of the favorite tools and weapons of abusers of people and abusers of power. This is one of the reasons that the sense of entitlement held by those who abuse power is so dangerous. 6/
Those who enjoy abusing power often employ false equivalencies. They portray our attempts to address the harm and injustice we are facing--no matter how we approach the topic, even if we tiptoe so lightly that we can hardly be heard--as dangerous and "uncivil" attacks. 5/
There are a lot of people in power who enjoy holding up and participating in unjust systems. It is sick how many people with medical authority so smugly tell those of us with disabling chronic illness and chronic pain that we know nothing about our own experiences. 4/
Those people who think that complaining about injustice is injustice--those who think addressing injustice and fighting injustice is "unreasonable" even if the injustices we are addressing are killing us, as they so often do, are clearly okay with having blood on their hands. 3/
Medical, social, and economic injustice...People are dying and still the favorite refrain of so many abusers of unearned authority is "it's all in their head." 2/
There has never been corroborating scientific evidence showing ME is anything but a serious neuromuscular illness, and yet authority is given to the voices of gaslighting abusers of power over and over again. The reasons for this are complex, but injustice is at the core. 1/
Absolutely awful. That moment when a National Institute for Health and Care 'EXCELLENCE' @NICEcomms ignore medical experts and patients, to follow a biased agenda - framing a debilitating neurological condition in a way that will cause further patient harm #donoharm#healthcare
#DoctorsAreDickheads hashtag is well worth a read. As a doctor I see the effects of medicine done badly on a regular basis. We are human and fallible, but can we please try our best to genuinely care for our patients? And genuinely listen? Too much to ask?
Some people are asking how they can support @Stroopwaffle. While the priority is her health, joining in with her fundraising appeal is certain to lift her spirits. If you can, please donate to this good cause #fivebyfive challenge
Please pray for Jenny Rowbory (@Stroopwaffle) - her parents give the update here. Hospital is not only overwhelming for her physically but traumatic too. She’s in desperate situation, and could do with a little miracle. Thank you.
When I brought up my suspected diagnosis (and ultimately ACCURATE diagnosis) of EDS along with my list of symptoms, declining abilities, they gaslit me, laughed at me, instead of admitting they didn't know and attempting to guide me towards someone who might.

I got worse for years, stuck in bed unable to walk from pain, while they sat in their offices laughing at me and implying that I was making it all up. They refused to test me for EDS, and if they had, they would've seen I was right! #DoctorsAreDickheads
