@AsmCoreyJackson Many counties require #CalWORKs participants to keep an actual log of every time they drive somewhere in order to access transportation ancillaries. Why not evaluate their weekly schedules and provide ancillary payments based on that?
@AsmCoreyJackson Many counties won't pay transportation ancillaries for driving to and from childcare, even though it's required in the welfare-to-work contract. #calworks#GoGlennda!!!
@AsmCoreyJackson If you send your #CalWORKs child to a licensed provider, the state will pay a fair wage to the worker. If you prefer to have a family member watch your child, the family member is paid an extremely low rate (far under minimum wage). This reduces childcare uptake
@PhilTing , the cost of participating in CalWORKs is often misogyny, racism, classism, & humiliation, and the outcome is child poverty. We need to reimagine the culture of CalWORKs to improve the #CalWORKs Program and reduce child poverty. @AsmArambula @AsmCoreyJackson#AB310
CalWORKs recipients deserve transportation ancillaries at the federal reimbursement rate. Why does it cost CalWORKs parents less than state workers to travel by car? It doesn't. @AsmCoreyJackson @AsmArambula #calworks#reimaginecalworks
