New Yorkers already pay some of the highest property taxes in the country—now, officials say they’re about to go even higher.

With $5.5 billion in federal education funding on the chopping block, Gov. Hochul and Sen. Gillibrand are warning that local governments will be forced to fill the gap.

They say that if Trump moves forward with gutting the Department of Education, programs like Pell Grants and free school lunches could vanish overnight.

According to Hochul, that would leaves cities and towns with a choice: raise taxes or slash school budgets.

🚨 🇺🇸NORAD INTERCEPTS RUSSIAN JETS NEAR ALASKA, YUKON

NORAD confirmed it scrambled U.S. and Canadian fighter jets after spotting multiple Russian military aircraft in the Arctic.

The NYPD has named Altoona officers Tyler Fry and Joseph Detweiler as honorary detectives for their role in arresting Luigi Mangione, the suspect in the UnitedHealthcare CEO murder.

The officers apprehended Mangione at an Altoona McDonald's on December 9.

NYPD Lieutenant Frank Andiossi and Detective James Curcio were also recognized for their tireless work on the case.
