Rebuilding my life in midlife — one intentional day at a time.
Writing about mornings, nervous system, and the midlife rebuild.
Living the story as I write it.
🧵 The Self-Audit That Changed Everything
Last year, I thought I was living the dream.
A log cabin A-frame on the lake.
Beautiful view.
Quiet country.
It looked perfect from the outside.
But the reality was very different.
The older I get, the more I think a good life might be surprisingly ordinary:
good health
good people
dogs nearby
peace in your nervous system
and enough presence to notice it all
I’m no longer interested in success that requires:
- chronic stress
- constant urgency
- emotional disconnection
- exhaustion as a lifestyle
If I have to abandon myself to build it,
it’s probably not aligned.
The Daily Exhale - April 23, 2026
Small changes compound over time.
Even when they feel insignificant.
Breathe in. Breathe out…
Reflection:
What small change could you repeat daily?
There’s a version of you that existed m before the pressure, before the expectations, before you started doing what you thought you should do.
That version is still there.
Just buried.
