🌹The Labour Health team met with @WeAreWithYou last month. Our members in Wigan & Leigh are in dispute with WAWY over broken pay promises. They are losing out on ~£8,000 each between 2018-2023.
@JonAshworth@DrRosena please call on WAWY to pay support workers what they deserve.
Pot 🥘 Kettle 🫖 Black ⚫️ Belinda Phipps is CEO of @WeAreWithYou, the charity who promised their Wigan & Leigh support workers NHS rates & then broke their pay promise, costing workers an average of £7,870 each 💷 . Does that sound ethical to you? 🤔
#BelindaFibs#WeWontPayYou
“The money that @WeAreWithYou have funneled into their London-based organisation should have been spent in small businesses in Wigan and Leigh.
“Charities should not be allowed to play the role of facilitating pay cuts for key-workers.”

Our members working for @WeAreWithYou in Wigan & Leigh saw their collective mood move from hope 😄 to anger 😡 when they saw that We Are With You bosses were not keeping their pay promises. Will you step in and show how much you value your support workers? #KeepYourPayPromise
1 way to retain and motivate Wigan & Leigh @WeAreWithYou staff would be to #KeepYourPayPromise.
Frontline workers are thousands out of pocket and it is hitting WAWY's retention. 1 support worker said: “New employees that come in don't last very long and look for other work.”
We're proud of our members working for @wearewithyouWL. They even postponed all strike action for 6 months in order to prioritise service users during the pandemic. Yet WAWY is still breaking its pay promise. As an Exec Director, will you work to ensure staff are paid fairly❓
Support workers in Wigan and Leigh were transferred from the NHS to @WeAreWithYou. They were promised that their pay would keep up with NHS rates.
They are now between ~£1000 and ~£2000 per year worse off than NHS workers. This is simply wrong. #KeepYourPayPromise#WeWontPayYou
Solidarity with the @WeAreNotWithYo1 workers who have voted to take further strike action.
It is a scandal workers having their pay cut by an average of £7,870 with some set to lose as much as £10,974.
@WeAreWithYou need to stop this behaviour and support the staff.
UNISON members working for @WeAreWithYou in Wigan and Leigh have voted unanimously to take strike action for the SIXTH time. ✊
@bluepaddy74: "Without a consolidated NHS pay award, accepting any offer from WAWY would amount to voting for pay cuts."

@NorthWestUNISON@WeAreWithYou Over 85% turnout with 100% voting in favour to take industrial action - these members are not going away. Having already undertaken 16 days of action there WILL now be more to come unless this so called charity keep their promise on a consolidated NHS pay award @WeAreNotWithYo1
We Are With You CEO @Belinda_Phipps is Trustee of @ProBonoEcon, who report on the impact of charities. We've saved them the trouble and written our own report into @WeAreWithYou's impact. 📉
We've concluded that WAWY practice 'Anti-Keyworker Economics' 👉 https://t.co/Pfw9DihlVM
People who experience issues with drugs and alcohol should be able to access high-quality services. Not just a bargain-basement @WeAreWithYou charity service.
@WiganCouncil#serviceincrisis
When NHS staff in England were asked if they would be happy with the standard of care their service provides for a friend or relative – 71% agreed. But when staff employed by @WeAreWithYou in Wigan and Leigh were surveyed – only 20% agreed.

We are delighted to have the full support of @AngelaRayner MP.
She's worked in a public sector support role and knows that we want to give the best support we can to the local people we support.
Time for @WeAreWithYou to staff safely and pay what they promised. @WiganCouncil
