@imaginari_es 4-5 days a year. First year is the most time consuming, after that you can keep referring to previous reports. Most benefit for me has been 'evidence' that other ways are possible. But selfishly, I'd only do it for a programme I respected (which arguably needs my input least)

@justdesigntruth @quigdes It’s a totally valid point, but it reflects the business model of all universities in the UK. I don’t know any academic that doesn’t work unpaid overtime every week; most courses would fall apart if academics worked to contract

Doing that makes a mockery of standards, and it makes a mockery of the students actually on those courses who DO deserve the top honours.
Suffice to say the quality of the 2:1 folks from Loughborough FAR exceeds most 1st class honours from other places. And that is wrong.
