Gunn & Safran were hired in 2022 after Black Adam flopped when the HamadaVerse was on its last legs.
We're in 2026 and the second (SECOND!) DCU movie has already deflated into Black Adam numbers.
Fucking hell.
Be the most toxic person throughout a movie marketing campaign, going under posts of the producer celebrating it'll flop
Release approaches and you switch gears like you're afraid of toxicity towards you for going to see said movie
Capeshit fandom for ya.
“Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor isn’t comic accurate”
LARP LARP LARP SAHUR
It’s inspired by Superman: Birthright.
> Lex is a young tech genius, mad scientist✅
> Has severe daddy issues✅
> Manipulates the public into thinking superman is a dangerous, unchecked foreign threat✅
Hype is driven by speculation. It’s the bedrock of discourse around superhero movies.
So the fact that DCU fans have gone back to talking about Snyder’s movies instead of speculating about Supergirl tells you there’s no hype for it 😭
When Supergirl doesn't do well, they're going to say it wasn't supposed to.
That's bullshit.
Just remember what Zaslav said last year about Supergirl being the 4th pillar behind the Trinity

Here's the ticket pre-orders for Supergirl where I live.
Thursday has 13 seats taken, while Friady & Saturday are EMPTY.
That's what happens when you make an ultra-nationalist Superman movie that treats global audiences as *checks notes* screaming monkeys to jumpstart a DCU. 💫
Yup, pretty much. Deadline and the other trades used to be about truth and breaking scoops, but then they all became owned by one company. This is when they became more of a mouthpiece for the studio. When Gunn pushed back at them, one would think that would sour their relationship with Gunn, but right now they need to start on his good side, or he would stop allowing them to break stories.
This was that writer going, “I’m on your side, DC Studios.” And because of the trades PREVIOUS position, people still do not challenge them even when they are clearly wrong because challenging them can’t hurt your company’s reputation. Even when they are wrong and everyone knows they are wrong, they are right especially when the CEO of DC is quick to twist statements to discredit you.
Funny how some filmmakers and their fans now treat a movie just breaking even on its budget as a huge win.
There was a time when anything under a billion was labeled a flop 🤷 IYKYK 🙌
