And with the trend it’s going, it’ll only be a few more years that we can guarantee you’ll see a puffin if you come on a walk.
Although the overall species is strong enough, our local population could be gone soon. And then we’ll be the town that USED to have puffins 😢
We hosted our last Tufted Puffin walk to Haystack Rock in Cannon Beach, OR last week as the puffins are starting to leave for the year.
It’s been such a fun season with lots of people joining us to share in a love for puffins. But the population here is in a steep decline.
