@edfenergy You seem to have banished quarterly bills, disproportionately affecting pensioners who have used this payment method for years, paying on time with no issues, loyal customers. No replies from [email protected] when querying this. Terrible #customerservice

@jutc1882 @GMB @edfenergy We cancelled our DD with EDF and pay quarterly instead. If everyone did this it would hurt them a lot. They rely on hoarding that money that belongs in your bank. We’re a lot better off low just paying for what we use.

@JohannaSaunders It’s almost impossible to change providers at the moment. I’ve just had EDF switch me from monthly bills to quarterly without any discussion, and by the time I realised the amount outstanding was almost £400. Because we can’t switch at the moment they can get away with it

Just found out that my electric bill is moving from quarterly to monthly by EDF.

Is there any mention in the relevant email as to why?

Has anyone else been forced to pay their energy company on a monthly basis? EDF are removing the quarterly option - their reason - because people are struggling to pay energy bills.

Is this fair to those customers who prefer to pay quarterly?
