This will probably be the last post from this account. We do still plan to take shorter RV trips in the future, but we are officially done full-timing, and I don't plan to chronicle the shorter trips the same way. Thank you all for the likes and comments, it's been fun to share!
This past weekend we brought it back to where it all began. The beautiful sandy beaches of Ocean Shores WA. It's been 2.5 years of nomad life and we've finally decided to hang our hats. Seeing the county was a wonderful and unforgettable expense, but we just missed our friends.
We made a goat friend at the RV Park we stayed at! Glacier Peak Resort and Winery just off hwy 20 on the way to North Cascades. Would definitely visit again!
On Saturday we finally made it to North Cascades! Which unfortunately... was kind of a wash :( They had just closed the highway due to the spread of the Sourdough Mountain fire, and much of the park was inaccessible.
Because the 20 Pass was closed, we had to go all the way around to Hwy 2. Ended up stopping the night at the Iron Goat rest area / trailhead. Took a hike up to Windy Point Viewpoint in the morning, and saw the old train tunnels!
We've been spending the last couple of days in Concrete, WA at a wonderful @harvesthosts site, one of our favorites to date! Ovenell's Heritage Inn at Double O Ranch, with a beautiful beach access area on the Skagit river. Picked up some fresh local honey and cuts of beef too!
Parked for the night out off Hurn Field in the Skagit Valley of WA, hoping to see an Elk herd that frequents the area here! Alas, we did not. Still a beautiful view though!
We spent this past weekend off in the Cascades at a nice little area called Triangle Recreation Camp. Had a wonderful time with friends, enjoying the forest and each other's company! There's a few old growth trees on the property, and a short hike up a climbable waterfall.
